Professor Martin Wainwright and Professor Stephen Bates are jointly seeking applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and EECS department. The position is for a researcher working on statistical inference with multiple strategic agents, broadly construed. Topics of interest include the effect of information asymmetry on estimation and hypothesis testing, data sharing and data purchasing with strategic agents, and the contracting/delegation of statistical inference and learning to external agents. The expected start date is September 1, 2025 – other dates possible by mutual agreement. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Professor Stephen Bates is seeking applications for a postdoctoral researcher. The position is for a researcher to work on statistical uncertainty quantification with AI and/or AI for science. Uncertainty quantification for computer vision and generative models that integrate medical imaging and omics data are of particular interest, but applicants with backgrounds in other areas of uncertainty/statistics for AI or AI for science will be considered.
The expected start date is February 1 or September 1, 2025 – other dates possible by mutual agreement. Applications submitted by October 31 will receive full consideration. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
